Who We Serve
Right Stop exists for neighbors who are ready to change their lives and need the two things change requires: a stable place to live and a fair shot at work. If that's you — or someone you love — you are exactly who this is for.
Release day shouldn't be the start of homelessness. Without an address, it's nearly impossible to get a job, keep a parole plan, or reunite with family. Our plan gives returning citizens a stable home base and work restoring houses — so coming home means actually coming home.
Nobody can job-hunt, heal, or plan a future from a car or a couch. We are building housing that starts with dignity — a real home, not a cot — paired with the support and opportunity it takes to stay housed for good.
Recovery is hard enough without going back to the same streets, the same corners, and the same triggers. A fresh address in a supportive home — with structure, purpose, and work — gives people in recovery solid ground to stand on while they rebuild.
What We Do
Right Stop Inc is in its building stage — raising support, lining up properties, and putting the pieces in place. Here's the work we're building toward, right here in Huntingdon County.
We take houses that have been written off — vacant, foreclosed, falling down — and bring them back as safe, decent homes for people in recovery and reentry. Residents get stability, structure, and a community that expects good things from them.
A run-down house becomes a home. A person with a past gets a future.
Housing alone isn't enough — people need income, skills, and a record of honest work. Our plan puts residents to work restoring the very homes our program depends on, learning real trades alongside experienced hands, and connects them with local employers willing to offer a fair chance.
Every restored home trains the workforce that restores the next one.

How It Works
The model is simple, and it's built to sustain itself: restore homes, house people in recovery and reentry, and put them to work restoring the next home.
We identify vacant and distressed houses across Huntingdon County — through purchases, partnerships, and property donations from people who want their house to do some good.
Crews and volunteers bring each house back to safe, livable condition — roofs, systems, and the thousand small repairs that make a house a home again.
People in recovery, reentry, and homelessness move into stable housing with clear expectations, mutual support, and a community rooting for them.
Residents work, learn trades, save, and step toward independence — while helping restore the next house for the next person who needs a right stop.
